When applied properly, no! Proper isolation of each natural lash, using the appropriate weight, and never over extending the natural lash all factor into making sure your lash extensions never hurt you or cause damage. Going to an artist that is educated, and takes care in each of those factors, can allow you to have lashes continuously, for years.
How long do they last & how often do I need fills?
Your natural lashes are constantly growing and shedding, so your extensions will naturally shed along with them. On average, we lose around 3-5 natural lashes per eye each day. Fills are recommended every 2-3 weeks to replace the extensions that have shed and keep your set looking full.
How long will my appointment take?
A full set of eyelash extensions typically takes 2–3 hours, depending on how many natural lashes you have and the amount of work needed to create your customized set. Fill appointments require less time and will vary depending on your lash growth and retention since your last appointment.
How should I come to my appointment?
Please arrive with clean lashes and no eye makeup. Avoid mascara, eyeliner, eye creams, or other products around the eye area before your appointment.
How do I care for my eyelash extensions?
Clean your lashes daily with a lash-safe cleanser and gently brush them with a clean spoolie as needed. Regular cleansing helps prevent buildup and keeps your lashes clean, healthy, and looking their best. Avoid mascara, oil based products around the eye area, and picking, tugging, or pulling at your extensions. These can affect retention and may cause unnecessary damage to your natural lashes.
As a Light Heart Lash Artist, I also retail Light Heart Lash Cleanser in the studio so you can easily keep up with proper aftercare at home.
How do I safely remove my eyelash extensions?
If you decide you no longer want your eyelash extensions, please do not pick, pull, or attempt to remove them yourself. Professional removal is the safest way to remove your extensions while protecting your natural lashes. The removal process typically takes about 30 minutes and can be booked at any time.
What is the best form of payment?
I prefer cash, but I accept card with a 3% fee.
